Squalene Oil for stretch marks

Nearly 90% of pregnant women develop stretch marks. Stretch marks are reddish or purplish scars which appears on the skin due to the overstretching of the skin. A good friend of mine fell pregnant late last year and she has been getting pretty annoyed and a little depressed about these stretch marks. So I have done some research on 'stretch mark treatment' for her.

I am already aware that squalene can help skin cells to regenerate due to its ability to produce more oxygenation in the human body when it is exposed to fluid. Squalene is very similar to human sebum (Natural Skin Oils) and when it is applied to the skin, it acts much like a natural protector and stimulates regeneration of the skin surface. Because of those amazing abilities, squalene oil has been used for treatment for scars, and yes! stretch marks.

I have come across with a product called 'Revitol Stretch Mark Cream' and it seems to be very popular amongst pregnant women. The main ingredients are;

Vitamin A
Vitamin A promotes repair and maintenance of the skin. Topical vitamin A treatments are often used to treat acne and other skin aliments.

Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 compliments the function of vitamin A and E, and it is necessary for new skin production. When vitamin D3 is applied topically in high concentrations, it has been shown to have beneficial effect as an antioxidant and anti-cancer agent.

Vitamin E
It is known as powerful antioxidant and an essential ingredients for skin regeneration. Topical use of Vitamin E over a certain period of time can show a lessening of wrinkles and lines, and it helps to reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

Aloe Vera Extract
It is known fact that aloe vera helps to deliver oxygen more efficiently to the skin and thereby aid synthesis and strength of the skin tissues. Aloe vera enhances skin regeneration and prevents the stretch marks from appearing.

10% Squalene Oil
Revitol Stretch Mark Cream uses squalene oil which is extracted from olive oil.

I believe this product has all the essential ingredients for 'skin repair', and my friend seems to be very happy with it. (She has gone though two tubes already.....)

Plant Squalene vs Animal Squalene

"Which Squalene is better, plant squalene or animal (life) squalene?"

Plant Squalene = extract from olive oil, palm oil or wheat germ oil etc.
Animal Squalene = extract from deep shark liver oil

I have asked above question to many people who use squalene oil for their businesses (hair dressers, beauticians, and dermatologist etc) but most of them cannot tell me exactly which is better. Here are the some of the common opinions I have gathered so far;

1) Animal Squalene has high purity, 99.0%. Plant Squalene purity is often between 92 ~ 96%, and it has to go through longer process to produce.

2) Many people prefer the texture of Plant Suqalene. It doesn't feel as oily as Animal Squalene.

3) Some people are very objectionable towards how Animal Squalene are produced. I have read that some companies only use sharks which got caught in the shark net, (Shark nets are placed in many beaches in the world to protect humans and other marine species from shark attacks.) but there are some other manufacturers which kill sharks for commercial purposes.

I have only used HABA products which are made of animal squalene and I would like to gather some information and opinions from people who uses plant squalene products.
